A Name for the Baby

Well, we've decided on a name. We had it narrowed down to Brayden or Blake (the middle name was going to be Richard either way), and we decided on Blake. We think it fits his aforementioned "feisty" personality.

Here are some pics of us holding him yesterday:

Today, he was moved into a new home. He's in the same spot, just got an upgraded bed. Now, to me, this bed looks like he has digressed, but I have been assured that this bed is a positive step. They are hopeful that since he is doing so well that tomorrow he can be moved to just a regular crib.

He has a pacifier that he has kind of just let sit in his mouth, but today he has really started to suck on it. That means that we get to try and feed him out of a nipple this afternoon to see how he does with it. Not only is he now sucking his pacifier, he is so smart he has figured out how to hold it in his mouth:

We are proud of the little guy and excited to see all of his progress.

Wow! Already in an isolette and on room air! He is progressing so quickly! And yes, the fiesty attitude is definitely a good thing - that means he's a fighter! (Our first baby was the same way. She had quite a reputation.)

So glad you guys are getting to hold him. Have you done "kangaroo care"?
