We are doing well also, but it does get a little frustrating at times. He will do so well, and we will get so excited, and then he'll take a few steps backwards, and it is somewhat deflating. But, that's the way it goes. They have tried to take his breathing tubes out twice, he has gone into the regular crib once, and he was up to 4 bottles per day. While he did well with all of those things for a while, eventually, he just wasn't ready for any of it. So, he is still in the incubator, still has breathing tubes, and is back to only 2 bottles a day. We are excited for him to get to come home, but realize he needs to be there for a while longer.
We do feel very fortunate that there will be no long term problems. Had he come a few weeks earlier, that would have been a very real possibility. We've heard that a lot of times with babies this age, they will seem like they are struggling, and then all of the sudden a light just goes on one day and they "get it". We're hoping that's the way it goes with Blake. In the mean time, we love going over to see him every day and we'll continue to stock up on our sleep for when he does go home.

Oh what a doll! He's so cute! Try not to get discouraged. He'll get "it" soon. I hope Lindsay is feeling great still. :)
What a stud, oxygen, feeding tubes and all!!! If my baby is a girl they can totally date...someday. Now if I have a boy...they can be roommates at college. :)
