Feeding Tube Fun!

We discovered how gifted and talented Blake is yesterday. We were changing his diaper, and looked up to see this:
In case you can't tell, he is holding the feeding tube that is supposed to be in his nose and running into his tummy. He hates things in his nose, and seemed quite pleased with himself for pulling it out. In fact, when I tried to take the tube out of his hand, we got this:
We calmed him down and tucked the tube into his hat so it would be out of the way until the nurse could come put it back in.
After she got it in, he kept trying to grab it and pull it out again, so the nurse put more tape on his face to make sure he couldn't get to it, which he didn't appreciate.

The good news for today is that he did better with his bottle than he has ever done. So, maybe he won't need the feeding tube for as long as we thought. We'll just keep hoping that he can continue to do well with the bottle.

Wow, what a talented son you have! I think he is definitely gifted, already able to pull out his own feeding tube. And I'm glad to hear he is doing well with the bottle. Bummer they had to put more tape on him though, that sounds ouchy.
