Caught in the Act

We caught Blake pulling his feeding tube out again. He is doing it more and more often now. As you can see, he is sucking his thumb while he holds the misplaced tube.
The good news about this was that the nurse decided to keep it out for awhile this time. Now that he is up to 6 bottles a day, he didn't need it for awhile. So, for the first time ever (with the exception of right after he was born for about 10 minutes), we got to see his face without anything on it at all:
However, as a reflex, he kept reaching for it to try to pull it out, even though it wasn't there anymore:
Here is he eating a bottle wide awake and a family picture of the 3 of us. You can see in the bottle picture that his face was still very red from all the tape that has been there for so long and the feeding tube has left an indentation on his face.

In other Blake news, he is now almost 18.5 inches and weighs 5 pounds, 2.1 ounces. His face is really starting to fill out and he is getting lots bigger. Yesterday, a nurse told us "He'll probably be going home soon!" We don't know exactly what that means, but assume it might be within the week, barring any unforeseen problems.

You guys are a good looking family!!! I'm so glad he'll be getting to go home soon. What are they waiting for, the feedings? That is so exciting though.
