Worldwide Treasure Hunt

Who knew there were treasures hidden all over the place waiting to be found?!? Has anyone else heard about this outdoor treasure hunt game called Geocaching? I learned about this today and want to go find one right now! You use a GPS system or other navigational system to hide and seek containers called caches all over the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container with little trinkets and treasures and a logbook inside of it.
Apparently there are over 540,000 registered geocaches hidden all over the world. Once you find the hidden cache, the only rules are if you decide to take a treasure out of the box that you leave something in its place for future seekers, and also to leave a comment in the log book. I was reading on the geocaching website and it says that some caches may only have a logbook, but others have items like maps, books, software, hardware, CD's, videos, pictures, money, jewelry, tickets, antiques, tools, and games. I want to find one of those caches!
If you are really ambitious, you can even hide your own cache box wherever you like and then register it so others can find it!
After registering with the geocaching website, you can type in your address or zip code and find the hidden treasures in your neighborhood. Happy hunting! Let me know if anyone finds any!

We are going geocaching during our family reunion. We find a box and then hide one. Its going to be awesome. We are going to hide things like of book of Mormon and a picture of the first presidency and some other stuff. But I'm so excited. You just have to own your own GPS system.

Isaac thinks this is all sorts of fun (what with being a GPS nerd and all). He and his little cartographer friends used to talk about it all the time.
