Christmas 2010

We had a really fun Christmas with Blake this year .  Now that he is a little older and understands opening presents, it is so fun to see his excitement.  We headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Dowdle's house Christmas Eve and had dinner with my family.  Then we had the traditional opening of the Christmas Eve pajamas for the kids and opening nativities for the adults.  Blake's shirt says, "Dear Santa, Define good".  That is a very fitting shirt for him this year.
Christmas morning was a little overwhelming for Blake with all of the presents.  He immediately saw all of his gifts from Santa and was completely satisfied for the rest of the morning.  We could have taken all of his presents under the tree back to the store and he wouldn't have cared because he had no interest in opening in them at all.   Santa must have received Blake's letter in time though because he had a training table and trains waiting for him.  He then proceeded to put all of his other Santa presents on top of the train table too.
Although he wasn't too interested in it at first, we knew there were a couple of presents under the tree that he would really want to open once he saw what was inside the wrapping.  All morning, he had been trying to steal the ambulance that Santa gave his cousin Carter, so we got him to open his big truck and he immediately wanted to play with it.
After he realized that there could be fun things in his presents we had him open his Buzz Lightyear which he also loved.
Santa also brought Blake his first bike, which he (with the help of Grandpa) rode up and down Grandma and Grandpa's entry hall.  Carter and Clara got bikes from Santa too, so they all had a lot of fun watching each other ride their bikes.
Blake always has a lot of fun at Grandma and Grandpa's, but this time there were presents, cousins, train tables, Buzz Lightyear, big trucks, and bikes and he was loving every minute of it.
