We were finally able to take Blake into the doctor last week for his 12 month check up and see how much he has grown. We knew he was gaining weight, but we had no idea how much! He gained almost 6 pounds in 3 months! He really likes food. Apparently Blake inherited my lack of height genes as well. He has always been in a higher percentile for his height but dropped down this time. I know everyone always says this, but we CANNOT believe Blake is already a year old. Where did the time go? We love him so much and are excited to see him constantly growing and learning new things.
Weight: 23 lbs 14 oz. (75th percentile)
Height: 29" (25th percentile)
Head: 19" (75th percentile)
12 Month Old Blake-isms
-Likes to open and close doors by swinging them
-Likes to play with the broom and yardstick
-Is fascinated with the washer and dryer
-Likes to play with and pull himself up on boxes
-Loves to play with the Garage door pull. He will look for it through his car window every time we pull into and out of our garage.
-Likes to bang things together
-Speed crawls towards the bathtub when he hears the water turn on
-Likes to crawl over things (boxes, kitchen chair legs, people)
-Loves making the kitchen chairs roll and move all around the house
-Likes playing with wrapping paper rolls
-Tries to take the silverware out of the dishwasher when I am loading or unloading it
-Speed crawls away from you when he knows you are coming to get him
-Loves playing with balloons
-Likes to sleep with a binky in his mouth and holding one in his hand
-Claps
-Says Dada, Mama, and Mom
-Dances when he hears music (bounces up and down)
-Can stand on his own for a few seconds, usually when he is intently focused on something else. As soon as he realizes he is standing on his own, he falls.
-Chews on his index fingers
-Gets into things he knows he shouldn’t, like the fireplace
-Is starting to throw fits by laying head on ground and crying

-Favorite Foods: cheese pizza, graham crackers, goldfish crackers, waffles, water, bread, mandarin oranges, bananas
-Not-So Favorite Foods: green beans and cottage cheese
